CLINICIANS/INSTRUCTORS Cooper Castleberry, Former Referee - Big XII Conference Started officiating in 1978. He became a referee in 1979 and has worked the position ever since. His career includes working at the high school level from 1978 through 1998, Southland Conference from 1994 through 1998, Western Athletic Conference from 1999 through 2001 and the Big XII Conference from 2002 through 2019. In his 25-year collegiate career, he had 22 bowl and post-season play-off assignments including the Mountain West Championship, Big XII Championship, 2008 FCS Division 1 National Championship and the 2017 FBS National Championship. He remains very active in the SFA Chapter as well as TASO (TASO-Football President 2011-12) and is the current UIL State Football Rules Interpreter.
Greg Adams, Umpire – Conference USA Greg began officiating in the late 90’s as a member of the Permian Basin Chapter. He relocated to the Houston area in 2008 and transferred his membership to the Houston Chapter. Greg began working college football in the Southwest Junior College Football Conference from 2001 through 2003. He then began working in the Lone Star and America Southwest Conference from 2003 through 2007. In 2007, he was hired by the SWAC and C-USA as an Umpire. Greg has had the honor to work 2 Texas High School State Championships, 2 East-West Shrine College All-Star Games, 3 Texas vs The Nation College All-Star Games, 2 SWAC Championships and 2 Conference USA Championships. Greg has also worked the 2009 Chick-fil-A Bowl, the 2010 Alamo Bowl, and the 2012 Las Vegas Bowl. He will continue working for C-USA in the upcoming 2019 season along with remaining an active member of the TASO Houston Football Chapter and the Southwestern Athletic Conference.
Frank LeBlanc, Line Judge - Big XII Conference Frank start officiating in 1994 and was a member of the Beaumont Chapter. He later relocated to the Houston area and joined the Houston Chapter. In 2001, he was invited to join the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). In 2006, Frank moved to the Southland Conference and became a part of the CFO West joint conferences (Southland, Mountain West & Big XII). In 2010, he was moved to the Big XII roster and has had the pleasure of working a post-season bowl (9) assignment every year since. He most recently worked the 2018 Big XII Championship between Oklahoma and Texas, followed by the 2018 Music City Bowl between Auburn and Purdue. He remains active with the Houston Chapter and assists with training officials at clinics.
Anthony Flemming, Side Judge - Big XII Conference Anthony started officiating in 1997 and joined the Dallas Football Officials Association in 1998. He has been working varsity level football games since 1999. By 2001, he was working small college football. Up to this point, Anthony has worked in the American Southwest Conference, Lone Star Conference, SWAC, Sun Belt Conference, Southland Conference, Mountain West Conference and Big 12 Conference. He has worked various post-season bowl games including most recently the 2018 Citrus Bowl between LSU and Notre Dame and the 2017 National Championship Game between Clemson and Alabama.
Eddie Kelly, Supervisor of Officials, SWAC Eddie is a native of Lufkin, Texas and began his officiating career in Houston in 1987. He was hired by the Southwest Athletic Conference (SWAC) in 2008, the Southland Conference in 2012 and the PAC-12 in 2017. Eddie has worked the Bayou Classic three times, the SWAC Championship five times and the 2016 UIL 6A State Championship game. He is a past president of the SWAC Football Officiating Association and, in 2019, was hired as the Supervisor of Officials for the Southwest Athletic Conference. He remains very active in the Houston TASO Chapter.
