When you visit the coaches before the game, you want the conference to be brief and businesslike. This suggested checklist might help you cover important points with both coaches without forgetting anything. Be a good listener when you visit with them and take your time to answer any questions or address any concerns they have, but do not waste their time; they are preparing themselves and their players for the game at hand. This checklist is formatted in Microsoft Excel so you can easily edit it to your specific needs after downloading.
There are certain situations where officials are REQUIRED by TASO and the UIL to file an incident report. Check with the chapter secretary for more information. Click on the heading to redirect you to the UIL Incident Report Form.
These are the forms that UIL and TAPPS coaches will use to certify to the referee that their team is equipped according to rule. THIS MUST BE SIGNED FOR ALL GAMES including sub-varsity games. If you are assigned three games on a Thursday afternoon, you must get three certifications; the TASO card has spaces for 3 signatures. The coaches are supposed to have them already signed to simply hand to you, but take copies to the game site in case you get there and the coach does not have his copy. Bring the signed form back to the next chapter meeting and turn it in to Jim. THIS IS MANDATORY! If a coach refuses to sign a copy, file a UIL Incident Report.
